For our products we use high quality vegetable tanned genuine leather from Italy. Vegetable tanning is the oldest and most traditional leather tanning method. Like the name suggests, veg-tanning is an organic method relying on natural vegetable tannins from trees or plants. It usually takes longer to tan leather using this method, but the result is a leather with distinctive aesthetic that ages beautifully. High quality leather lasts a long time and unlike most man-made, or synthetic materials it gets better with age, developing beautiful rich patina and wear pattern that is individual to the user - much like a favourite pair of jeans.
As we mindfully look for ways to lower consumption, leather very much fits with the ethos of ‘buy less, buy better’.
